Welcome to Likha Short Film Lab
Likha Short Film Lab is a free, hands-on short film training for aspiring Christian storytellers ages. Designed to equip and launch first-time filmmakers, the program combines four weeks of workshops, creative mentorship, and a production phase that culminates in a public screening and awards night. Participants will write, direct, and produce a short film grounded in faith.
Started in 2017 as a Christmas-themed video contest, Likha evolved into a full Short Film Lab in 2022, adding weekly training sessions, coaching, and structured production timelines to foster the next generation of storytellers in the Church.
Likha is organized by Asia Pacific Media — a faith-based media ministry equipping churches and creatives across Asia to share the Gospel through media. For over 30 years, APMedia has empowered believers to create relevant, hope-filled content.

This Year's Theme:
Cross & Cloud
How does tech shape our faith? We live in a world shaped by technology — from cloud storage to AI, from the scroll of your feed to the chip in your hand. But beyond the algorithms lies another unfolding story: one of faith, doubt, and redemption. This year, Likha Short Film Lab invites you to explore the theme “Cross & Cloud” — where digital realities meet spiritual journeys. How does tech shape the way we believe, question, love, or hope?

Your short film can feature technology from the past, present, or future — whether it’s a VHS tape or a yet-to-be-invented device. What matters is how technology can facilitate faith: awakening it, challenging it, deepening it. Tell a story of belief, doubt, or redemption — grounded in today’s world, yet rooted in eternal truth. Be bold, creative, and honest. Tech may connect us to the cloud, but only the cross leads to something greater.
